April UFO is Finished!!!!

Well it's April 21, and my UFO is done.  I will quilt it later, once the foot is better.   I know it's a lot of pink, but it is the Breast Cancer Material.  But here it is...

I picked up the material, here and there, ok, a lot on the Shop Hop Last year, knowing that I wanted to make a Breast Cancer quilt.

Thanks to Faye, I used her suggestion and cut the words out to border each block.  Breast Cancer affects so many, may there be a cure soon.  I'm not quite sure how I will quilt it, but I do know that I want to quilt some pink ribbons into it, maybe into the smaller blocks.

Thanks to my 1 thousand, whatever Ben said, best friend, Stephanie, as you do mammograms, helping in the fight against Breast Cancer.

In loving memory of Kathleen Ollila and Barbara Box

April in Progress!

Well, a broken foot has been a blessing in disquise, even though it is my right foot and I cannot drive...  I have successfully learned to use my left foot to sew!!!  Within the next day or so, I will complete my April UFO!  It's a Breast Cancer Quilt, yes very pink!!!  Hopefully there will one day be a cure.  I've had a couple of people ask for the quilt for benefit auctions, but I think I'll keep it.  I'm making it in Memory of Kathleen Ollila, my grandma and Barbara Box, my aunt who both passed away from Breast Cancer.
Not only will I finish the Breast Cancer quilt, I just need to do a border for a log cabin, and do my project for the Prairie Women's Sewing Circle, these too should both be competed this month.
My mom and a couple of my girlfriends are going on the Middle of the Mitten Shop Hop, I'm sure I'll pick up a few cuts of material or more than a few.....

April UFO Project!!

Well I just checked the Patchwork Times Blog for the April UFO Project, and this month I need to do my Breast Cancer Quilt.  I had been picking up pieces of Breast Cancer material and finally picked a pattern.  Plus with a broken foot, and not being able to drive, I have now successfully learned to sew with my left foot.  I have been able to do a lot of sewing since the break, so getting this done should be a snap, no pun intended!!
